Why Buy

Uganda Rwenzori is a rich, smooth coffee with deep chocolate notes, gentle fruit, and a full, satisfying body. It sits slightly bolder than your classic everyday coffees, but still keeps a clean, balanced finish.

This is a great choice if you want something familiar and comforting, with just a little more depth and weight in the cup.

Is This For You?

You’ll love this if:

  • You enjoy chocolate-led coffees with a fuller body
  • You want something smooth but slightly more robust than Brazil or Guatemala
  • You like coffees that work well both black and with milk
  • You’re looking for an easy step into slightly bolder flavours

You might prefer something else if:

  • You prefer bright, citrusy or floral coffees
  • You enjoy very light, delicate filter-style profiles
  • You want intensely earthy or heavy coffees like Sumatra

Uganda Rwenzori

Uganda Rwenzori is a coffee shaped by extremes — grown on the slopes of the legendary Rwenzori Mountains, often called the “Mountains of the Moon.”

Rising dramatically along the equator, the Rwenzori range is one of the few places on earth where glaciers sit above tropical rainforest. It’s this unique combination of altitude, climate, and fertile soil that creates exceptional conditions for growing coffee.

Smallholder farmers cultivate coffee on steep hillsides, where cooler temperatures slow the development of the cherries, allowing sugars and complexity to build naturally. Harvesting is done by hand, with careful selection ensuring only the ripest fruit makes it through to processing.

Once picked, the coffee is typically washed and dried slowly, preserving clarity while maintaining a satisfying body. The result is a beautifully balanced cup that reflects both its environment and the care taken in its production.

In the cup, Uganda Rwenzori offers a rich and rounded profile, with notes of dark chocolate, dried fruit, and a gentle citrus lift. It’s full-bodied yet smooth, with a depth that makes it equally suited to espresso or filter brewing.

There’s a quiet intensity to this coffee — much like the mountains it comes from. It’s bold without being overpowering, complex without losing its balance, and consistently rewarding from the first sip to the last.

At Acorns Coffee, Uganda Rwenzori is a standout for those who enjoy depth and character, offering a cup that feels both grounded and distinctive, shaped by one of the most remarkable coffee-growing regions in the world.
