Why Dogs Have Always Been Part of the Acorns Coffee Story

If you’ve visited Acorns Coffee over the years, there’s a good chance you’ve met our oldest team member.

His name is Bryn.

He’s a 13-year-old British Bulldog, and although he doesn’t roast coffee or make flat whites, he’s been part of Acorns Coffee almost from the very beginning.

Long before we had our own roastery, before shelves filled with freshly roasted coffee beans and before The Shed became home, there was our little horsebox.

Many of our earliest customers weren’t just coffee lovers—they were dog walkers.

Every morning we’d see familiar faces returning from local walks, muddy boots, wagging tails and leads wrapped around their hands, stopping for a well-earned coffee.

We’d make friends with almost all the dogs, always remembering their names.

Back then, Bryn was young and spritely, he quickly decided that every single dog was his friend. If he spotted someone approaching, he’d often be first to say hello, ready to greet both owner and dog before we’d even started making their coffee.

Those mornings became part of what Acorns Coffee was all about.

It wasn’t just somewhere to grab a takeaway drink. It became a place where people stopped, chatted, introduced their dogs to one another and became regulars.

Some of those customers still visit us today.

Coffee could be the best part of the dog walk

Like many dogs, Bryn enjoys his daily routine.

Over the years, one of our favourite moments has been taking him out for his walk and stopping for a coffee together. He’d happily settle down while we’d enjoy a freshly roasted coffee, often planning new ideas for Acorns Coffee along the way.

Some of our biggest decisions weren’t made in an office.

They were scribbled into notebooks while sitting outside with Bryn beside us, coffee in hand, watching the world go by.

Looking back, those quiet moments helped shape the business just as much as the busy days behind the coffee machine.

A dog-friendly coffee shop in Bordon

Today, you’ll still find the same warm welcome.

With free dog treats, plenty of fresh water and puppacino’s on the menu.

Whether you’re calling in after exploring Hogmoor Inclosure, heading back from Alice Holt Forest, enjoying the surrounding Hampshire countryside or simply walking around Bordon, dogs are always welcome at Acorns Coffee.

We know that for many people, a walk isn’t complete without great coffee afterwards.

Fresh water is always available, plenty of fuss is usually on offer, and don’t be surprised if Bryn is nearby keeping an eye on proceedings.

Visit us at The Shed

Acorns Coffee is proud to call The Shed home.

We are surrounded by open green space, making it an ideal stop before or after a walk with your dog. Whether you’re meeting friends, taking a break during a longer walk or collecting a bag of freshly roasted coffee beans to enjoy at home, we’d love to welcome both you and your four-legged companion.

More than just coffee

Coffee has always brought people together.

Sometimes it’s friends catching up.

Sometimes it’s families.

And sometimes it’s complete strangers brought together simply because their dogs decided they wanted to say hello.

Looking back over the past few years, it’s those moments we remember most.

Acorns Coffee has always been a place where everyone is welcome—including the four-legged members of the family.

If you’re looking for a dog-friendly coffee shop in Bordon, we’d love to meet you and your best friend.

And if you’re lucky, Bryn might come over to say hello first.
