At Acorns Coffee, we love creating unique blends that bring out the best in every bean. Our latest creation, Original Berry Blend, is no exception. This carefully crafted blend is designed to highlight the naturally sweet, fruity flavours of specialty coffee delivering a cup that’s bursting with jammy berry notes, smooth body, and a lingering, satisfying finish.
The Inspiration Behind our Berry Blend is Valentine’s Day!
We wanted to create a blend that captured the essence of strawberries and romance, that perfect combination of sweetness, richness, and bright, juicy fruitiness. By selecting beans with naturally occurring berry, red fruit, and honeyed flavour's, we built a blend that offers a truly unique tasting experience.
With its vibrant acidity and floral aromatics, Ethiopia Yirgacheffe lays the foundation, bringing forward notes of ripe strawberries and delicate florals. Rwanda Liza adds complexity with its deep red fruit character and velvety smooth body, enhancing the berry-like profile we were after. Our Colombia Finca Sofia, an award-winning favourite, provides a creamy, nutty sweetness that rounds out the acidity, while Brazil Santos ties it all together with a balanced, chocolatey base.
The result? A coffee that tastes like summer in a cup! Naturally sweet, fruit-forward, and beautifully smooth.
Tasting Notes: What to Expect
When brewed as a filter coffee, Strawberry Fields shines with its bright, juicy flavors. Expect an immediate burst of sweet strawberry and red berry, followed by a silky, honeyed sweetness and a clean, lingering finish.
As an espresso, the blend develops a deeper richness, with a balanced acidity that enhances the fruity complexity.
With the addition of milk, it transforms into a creamy, dessert-like experience, bringing out subtle notes of honey, marzipan, and cocoa, a nod to the comforting sweetness of a homemade strawberry tart.
